Amateur Radio active in Italian earthquake

Fol­low­ing the mag­ni­tude 6.2 earth­quake in cen­tral Italy on 24 August, Ital­ian trained mem­bers of Rag­grupp­men­to Nazionale Radio­co­mu­ni­cazioni Emerg­er­gen­za (RNRE) are active.

Alber­to Bar­bera IK1YLO has asked that 7060 kHz be kept clear along with oth­er Emer­gency Cen­tre of Activ­i­ty fre­quen­cies in the 80m and 40m bands for emer­gency com­mu­ni­ca­tions with­in Italy. VHF/UHF com­mu­ni­ca­tions are also in use.

No exter­nal assis­tance is required at this time. The RNRE is fol­low­ing its planned response with their gov­ern­ment agencies.

Any requests for infor­ma­tion on miss­ing per­sons should be made via the Red Cross or oth­er recog­nised relief organisations.
