Following the magnitude 6.2 earthquake in central Italy on 24 August, Italian trained members of Raggruppmento Nazionale Radiocomunicazioni Emergergenza (RNRE) are active.
Alberto Barbera IK1YLO has asked that 7060 kHz be kept clear along with other Emergency Centre of Activity frequencies in the 80m and 40m bands for emergency communications within Italy. VHF/UHF communications are also in use.
No external assistance is required at this time. The RNRE is following its planned response with their government agencies.
Any requests for information on missing persons should be made via the Red Cross or other recognised relief organisations.
