The Philip­pines Ama­teur Radio Asso­ci­a­tion is ready to play its role alongside
oth­er agen­cies in an earth­quake drill, run by the Met­ro­pol­i­tan Mani­la Development
Authority.

Jojo Vicen­cio DU1VHY advis­es that the main area of con­cen­tra­tion contains
17 local gov­ern­ment units, with some pre­riph­er­al to Greater Mani­la as well.

PARA under­stands that pos­si­bly some sta­tions will form a con­tin­gency to cover
Mani­la if nation­al offices are wiped out under the scenario.

It will use the Inter­na­tion­al Ama­teur Radio Union Region 3 tem­plate for the
earth­quake drill on July 30, 0230 UTC till about 0530 UTC.

PARA using DX1PAR as con­trol will be the 7.110 MHz cen­tre-of-activ­i­ty frequency
for emer­gen­cies and local VHF fre­quen­cy 144.740 MHz.
