HS72KING Special Event Callsign

In commemoration of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 72nd birthday, a special event callsign “HS72KING” has been designated to celebrate this auspicious occasion. This callsign will be active as part of the grand royal ceremony to honor His Majesty’s six-cycle (72 years) birthday on July 28, 2024. The event, which holds deep cultural and historical significance for Thailand, is organized by the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and aims to unite amateur radio enthusiasts across the country in celebrating the King’s milestone.

The use of the “HS72KING” callsign on amateur radio frequencies will serve not only as a tribute to the King but also as a means to promote and enhance the spirit of camaraderie and community among radio operators. This event allows participants to send their best wishes and congratulations to His Majesty, fostering a sense of national pride and unity. The activities surrounding this special callsign will include broadcasts on various bands and multiple communication modes (CW, SSB, FM, FT8, etc.), creating a vibrant atmosphere of celebration on the airwaves.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, known in the amateur radio community by his personal callsign HS10A, has long been a supporter of amateur radio activities in Thailand. By endorsing and participating in this special event, His Majesty continues to inspire and encourage the growth and development of amateur radio in the country. This royal endorsement not only elevates the status of amateur radio but also highlights its importance as a tool for education, emergency communication, and international goodwill. The “HS72KING” event stands as a testament to the enduring legacy and influence of His Majesty on the amateur radio community and beyond.

RAST has Licensed from NBTC for HS72KING During 1–29 July 2024.
